How can you tell what wattage your laptop adapter should be?

One of the questions we get asked most frequently on our sales hotline is how do i know what is the correct specification and wattage of the laptop charger that I require. Well, there are two ways for the customer to try to ascertain which is the correct laptop adapter for your machine. The first way is to look at the previous laptop adaptor that you were using and try to lift the technical details off the adapter label. The key things to look out for is the output voltage and ampage of the laptop power supply unit. However care must also be taken over the diameter and specification of the tip that plugs into the laptop.

Given these complications we select the second method – the Laptop Power UK method. Get our homepage up. Select the search function to search laptop chargers only. Then follow the drop down menus to select the make and model of the laptop you have. Some of the details may be on the underside of your laptop. Then an image and all the technical details of the item we believe you will rewuire will come up. Double check the image and technical details against both the underside of your laptop – and if you have it against the previous laptop charger you were using. Then the next bit is the easy part – add the item to your basket – checkout – and sit back and let us get the item dispatched to you from within the UK the very same day as we receive the order.
