What to do when your Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 Charger is broken

When your Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 Charger is broken what steps should you take to replace it. Firstly you need to make sure it is the correct one you are buying. Many Toshiba Satellite Pro Chargers are one of two possible replacements. They will look practically identical but there will be subtle differences.

The first is a 90W adapter. You will be able to tell by looking at the label of your old charger. It should say somewhere on it 19V 4.74A as the output. The second possibility is a 15V 5A , 65W version. Again, check the label for assistance.

The second difference will be in the tip. The 90W version will usually have a yellow plastic tip and should be 5.5mm outer diameter and 2.5mm inner diameter.  The 65W version however is larger with a 6.3mm outer diameter and 3.0mm inner diameter. The difference will be noticeable to the naked eye. With different power and different fittings it pays to spend a couple of minutes checking before you order to save yourself some trouble in the near future.
